‘The Best You Can Be’ blog interview the ‘world’s top self-development coaches and personalites today’. I am thrilled to be part of that team. Here is the interview on twitter. You’ll excuse the shorthand. As you know there is a word limit, which I did try to adhere to most of the time.
1. Who are you and what you are you about?
Happiness is a state of being not a state of doing or having. Teach people to rely on self to be happy, not anything outside of self.
2. Why do you use Twitter?
To give daily tips to others on how to be happier & to connect with great people all over world. We find each other on twitter.
3. Got anything interesting coming up?
Yes, partnering with Jamie Oliver’s @FoodRev. My book ‘How Happy is Your Health?’ profiled on Foodrev site thru June.
4. Sum up your life in one tweet
Happy, exciting, loving, full, interesting, curious, adventurous, risky
5. Why did you get into Personal Development?
At 14 a shoulder/back tennis injury forced me to heal myself as the Dr’s said I would never be better. Started Pilates, meditation (TM), Alexander Technique and therapy. (Therapist was NLP & hynotherapy) Back began to heal. Also I started to become happier as was stripping away masks and armor to become more authentic. Was also being bullied badly. Knew I need to be happy regardless of anything that was going on outside of self at the time. So went inside to find happiness. Decided at 14 was going to help others to become happy as well, so started training in lots of mind, body, spirit techniques.
6. Imagine yourself as a child. What one piece of advice would you give yourself?
Be patient, stay present, trust in unfolding of your life, it is going to be more complex & more beautiful than you can ever imagine.
7. What’s the best thing you’ve ever done?
Marry my husband & have a baby! If you are asking me to focus on work. I wrote the 4 ‘How Happy is’ books in 9 months. Did a 1 woman show for a year. 1 woman show was a secret dream I had, that I accomplished. Very risky to be on stage alone for 1hr 20 mins. No safety net. I believe “if you risk nothing, you get nothing.”
8. What would you like to be doing in 10 years?
Celebrating son’s 13th bday with my boys. Own talk show, products, travel, lots of speaking engagements, very involved in orphanage.
9. Tell us one interesting fact about yourself that we might not know.
I’m psychic. My gift is that I know where the person is stuck in their lives and what they need to do to shift out of it. Used to work as a psychic exclusively for a period of time.
10. Give us a tweet using one of today’s top trending topics.
#insidethedream There is a message.
11. Why do you enjoy doing what you do?
Fulfilling my life purpose. So rewarding to help people have insight, become happier & get what they want.
12. What would you like your legacy to be?
Long, happy marriage, fantastic child. That I helped many people really get what I say in this quote on the most profound level … “Your thoughts and feelings are like clouds that pass over you. They are not who you are. You have them. So if your thoughts and feelings come and go, what is under that? Under that, there is peace and quiet and in that peace and quiet is where happiness exists.
